*Transactional Leadership*

Contingent Rewards- Principal or manager gives a certain task and role that
they want their subordinates to complete. Upon the task that the manager
has put in place, the subordinate is rewarded with something they are
interested in. Bribery system (I scratch your back you scratch mine)

Active Management- Proactive approach to management, the manager is very
involved to the point where they’re almost micromanaging the task at hand.
Fix a problem before in occurs.

Passive Management- Reactive approach to management where nothing is
addressed until an issue or situation arises. Why fix something until it’s
broke.

Laissez-faire- Very passive approach to leadership, to the point that there
is very little interaction with the staff and students in the building.
Almost like the principal is telling the staff that they are laying all the
responsibilities on them. Would take years to establish the amount of trust
to work out of Laissez-faire.

*Transformational Leadership*

Idealized Influence- The principal or manager is truly a leader by example,
building trust between their staff and themselves

Inspirational motivation- Cheerleader, they make the task or goals at hand
to seem very appealing and worth moving towards. They provides a sense of
hope.

Intellectual stimulation- Energizing through creating new ideas and
replacing old techniques and procedures through questioning and logic. Not
a feeling based approach, but based upon fact.

Individualized consideration- takes individuals strengths and continues to
meet with them, for the purpose of developing those areas to their utmost
potential. They continue to monitor and present you with opportunities to
grow yourself as a professional.
