Hello Bird Staff!!

Welcome back from a shortened winter break and a special welcome to our new employees.  I hope that everyone had an enjoyable holiday season.

As you are all aware of by now, winter (spring) semester is the busy season for Bird Arena.  Our patrons visit our great facility twice as often during the winter than they do in the fall.  This means double the amount of people at recreational skating, midnight meltdowns, birthday bashes, group lessons and all other programming.  The large increase in numbers through our doors means we have to be on top of our game to help serve the needs of our patrons.
Part of ensuring the success of our operation during the peak season falls on the shoulders of our leadership team which includes 6 student manager positions.  Those positions are Events Manager (Talli Topp), Maintenance Manager (Greg Leff), Office Manager (Mackenzie Snyder), Concessions Manager (Gretchen Klaber), Pro Shop Manager (Eric Adelsberger), Skating Director (Parker DeWeese).  All of the managers listed began working at Bird As Recreational Assistants and through promotion, earned the spots they are in now.

Next year, I am projecting that 4 of the 6 manager positions will need to be filled.  This email is to serve as notification to all Bird Arena Staff members that applications for promotion to fill these positions are now being accepted.  The positions being posted are as follows:


 *   Maintenance Manager
 *   Office Manager
 *   Concessions Manager
 *   LTS Skating Director

Applications for promotion are located in the main office at Bird.  Please ask the office administrative assistant on duty for a form if you are interested.  The application deadline is Tuesday February 5, 2013.  I encourage all levels of staff to apply for promotion, the experience of interviewing for a new position is invaluable.  Please take advantage of this opportunity.
