How unfortunate this particular teacher did not see just how much of an
influence she could make on the lives of her students. We all know that
our students have struggles beyond our control, but, I feel, it is our job
to raise them up and give them the tools to help them overcome. I, too,
try to surround myself with like minded people. I feel that having these
relationships are resources that I can draw from when I might not be having
one of my better days, or one of my lessons did not go as planned.

I find it interesting that you are having positive outcomes from your grade
level TBT's also. That is one of the examples of collective efficacy that
I used in my answer as well. Leaving our TBT's I feel like our grade level
is back on track and centered toward getting the best out of and for our
students. How wonderful that you have a new principal that can re-energize
your building. I'm sure you feel the same way! Having an administrator
that is a leader makes for a more successful building.
