OUCTMers: From Dr. Foley:

The registration form for the CAT Research Symposium went online yesterday. Please attend and present if you can. The focus of the symposium is on AYA mathematics and science teaching in Appalachian Ohio. Research talks aimed at practitioners make ideal presentations, but we are open to any talk of interest to current and pre-service mathematics and science teachers and in Grades 7–12.

We anticipate about 100 attendees. Mostly they will be practicing mathematics and science teachers, mathematics and science teacher candidates, and college and university faculty in STEM fields and in STEM education. They will hail from many of the 32 Appalachian counties of Ohio. IHEs participating in the CAT program include Marietta College, Muskingum University, Shawnee State University, University of Rio Grande, as well as Ohio University and its five regional campuses. CAT scholars, other teacher candidates and faculty from these IHEs will attend—as well as teachers from districts in the areas these institutions serve. Last year we also had a few two-year college faculty attend.
OUCTM members are especially encouraged to attend, and to present on a topic of practical interest-perhaps something related to a project you've done or investigated as a result of participating in another conference. Several students will be presenting: some from OU, some from Shawnee, and perhaps a few others. Teachers and faculty will also make presentations.
There is a $10 registration fee that covers lunch.
Online registration is available on the main CAT page (www.cehs.ohio.edu/CAT) or you can go directly to the form at this link: http://ohed.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_9F6XjRH8yzxHbog. Like last year, preregistration is required.
Thanks

Greg
