Please attend and present if you can. The focus of the symposium is on AYA mathematics and science teaching in Appalachian Ohio. Research talks aimed at practitioners make ideal presentations, but we are open to any talk of interest to current and pre-service </span><font class="Apple-style-span" face="Palatino,sans-serif">mathematics and science teachers and in Grades 7–12. </font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" face="Palatino,sans-serif"><br></font></div><span id="OLK_SRC_BODY_SECTION"><div><div style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 14px; "><div style="font-family: Palatino, sans-serif; "><div><span class="Apple-style-span">We anticipate about 100 attendees. Mostly they will be practicing mathematics and science teachers, </span>mathematics<span class="Apple-style-span"> and science teacher candidates, and college and university faculty in STEM fields and in STEM education. They will hail from many of the 32 Appalachian counties of Ohio. IHEs participating in the CAT program include Marietta College, Muskingum University, Shawnee State University, University of Rio Grande, as well as Ohio University and its five regional campuses. CAT scholars, other </span>teacher candidates<span class="Apple-style-span"> and faculty from these IHEs will attend—as well as teachers from districts in the areas these institutions serve.
