  Job Description

The Post University Instructional Designer is responsible for providing
expert assistance to internal and external clients in the design and
delivery of high quality and effective online and hybrid courses.  S/he
will work with a team consisting of a subject matter expert (SME -
faculty), graphic designer, video/flash producer, and instructional coach
to develop outstanding learning experiences for our students. S/he is
responsible for the successful execution of online learning best practices
and design according to the Post University learning model.



The instructional designer plays a critical role in leading the creation of
master online courses that are developed with SMEs to ensure consistent
high quality of learning experiences, content, and outcomes while being
taught by many other full- and part-time faculty. Since the creation
process is necessarily a collaborative endeavor, s/he must be able to
communicate effectively, provide intelligent and persuasive guidance, and
manage each development project to meet both deadlines and quality
standards.
 Desired Skills & Experience

   - Master’s Degree in Instructional Design or related field; Ph.D. is a
   plus
   - Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in Instructional Design
   - Working knowledge of major ID models
   - Understanding of learning theories, emerging brain science, the arts,
   and technology that influence design learning environments.
   - Ability to translate simply, persuasively, and effectively
   instructional design, learning theory, and ID processes into actionable and
   achievable quality design learning environments.
   - Excellent time management skills
   - Teaching experience – preferably in asynchronous distributed
   (any-time, anywhere) online learning environments
   - Skills in delivering training virtually via WebEx, by phone, and in
   face-to-face environments
   - Excellent graphical and learning design abilities
   - Ability to produce design documents, develop storyboards for learning
   experiences and environments, and rework content from faculty, SMEs, and
   outside content providers according to University design standards
