Dear Dr. Foreman,

My name is Rosia Frater, and I am a doctoral candidate in the Counseling & Counselor Education Program at Texas Christian University (TCU). You are receiving this email because you are listed as the CACREP contact for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at your institution. I am currently conducting research that involves understanding master’s level students who identify as persons of color and their work with white clients. I am writing to you to request that you share the attached recruitment letter with your students enrolled in internship courses.

I am seeking participants who satisfy the following criteria: (a) are at least 18 years old, (b) identify as a person of color, (c) are enrolled in a CACREP-accredited master’s level counseling program, (d) have completed at least one multicultural course, (e) are enrolled in Internship I or II, (e) have worked with a former white client, (f) is currently working with at least one white client, and (g) attends an institution that offers free counseling services to their students.
Interested students may contact me at 903-288-4774 or r.frater at tcu.edu (which is also listed on the attached flier). Once they contact me, they will undergo a screening process to verify they meet the criteria for the study. Accepted participants will be asked to schedule two Zoom interviews that may last up to 90 minutes each.

As a token of my gratitude and in recognition of their valuable time and input, each selected participant will receive a $50 Amazon gift card after completing the final interview. Participants will receive the gift certificate after the study has been closed. I will diligently safeguard the confidentiality of each participant, and I am available to address any questions they may have regarding the study.
