AAMS invites you to engage with us and different authors or activists each at our weekly Race & Antiracism Reading event as we explore various articles, videos, or podcasts.
For the past many months we have had a variety of book clubs attended by about 140 people from the Athens area. They have been challenging, fun, inspiring, difficult and full of learning for all of us. Many members developed action steps and projects.
Our facilitator team for this round includes Lacey Rogers, Brandon Thompson, Janice Wright, Debbie Spangler, Laura Blackand John Schmieding.
The format will feature seven weeks of once-a-week meetings, with an 8th week to bring all of the groups together. We understand that we have busy lives and you might miss a session or two. Depending on enrollment, we will offer groups Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 - 8:00 PM and a Tuesday group from 4 - 5:30 PM.
We will begin the week of January 24th.
