The        University of West        Georgia is a rapidly growing institution located approximately        50 minutes west        of Atlanta. The University enrolls over 11,000 graduate and        undergraduate        students and is one of Georgia's four robust-tier institutions. The College        of Education        offers baccalaureate, masters, specialist, and doctoral degrees        across four        departments and is a recognized leader in the preparation of        professionals in        education, counseling, and sport management. The College        of Education        is currently seeking nominations and applications for        tenure-track positions        throughout the College from energetic individuals who are        interested in working        in a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and dynamic academic        organization.        Qualified candidates will have successful experience or        demonstrated promise        in: supervising field-based or clinical activities, conducting        meaningful        research and scholarship, teaching undergraduate and graduate        courses, guiding        undergraduate and graduate student research, identifying and        pursuing        collaborative and entrepreneurial opportunities, developing and        providing        instruction through on-line or alternative methods, and        developing        collaborative relationships with academic and non-academic        partners. 
    
 
    
The        Department of Clinical        and Professional Studies in the College of Education at the        University of West        Georgia invites dynamic applicants to join our rapidly-growing,        CACREP-accredited Counselor Education Program with an M.Ed. in        Professional        Counseling (School, Community/Clinical Mental Health, and        College Student        Affairs),  Ed.S. in        Professional        Counseling, and Ed.D. in Professional Counseling and        Supervision. The College        of Education at the University of West Georgia is doctoral        granting and        NCATE-accredited, a recognized leader in preparing exemplary        practitioners for        all educational roles. Position Description
    
 
    
The        successful candidates        will assume a range of responsibilities including (1) teaching        graduate courses        that include on-line instruction; (2) conducting meaningful        research and        scholarship; (3) participating in broad-based university,        college, and        departmental committee work and professional service; (4)        advising students;        (5) supervising students in field experiences in various school        and community        settings; and (6) working collaboratively with the doctoral        program in        Professional Counseling and Supervision, as well as the doctoral        program in        School Improvement, both in the College of Education. Required Qualifications
    
 
    
·                  Earned doctorate        in Counseling or Counselor Education (preferably from a        CACREP-accredited        program)
    
·                  Licensed/certified        or license-eligible as a professional counselor or professional        school        counselor in Georgia
    
·                  The positions        require counseling experience in a school or mental health        setting 
    
·                  Evidence of        successful teaching experience
    
·                  Experience with        technology and/or online teaching in educational settings
    
·                  Established or        developing research agenda
    
·                  Established or        developing record of service
    
·                  Interest and        ability in working with doctoral and graduate programs
    
·                  Must be able to        maintain an active career balanced across the areas of teaching,        scholarship,        and service

This is a        tenure-track,        nine-month appointment with the possibility for summer        employment. Start date        for the position is August 1, 2013, pending availability of        funding. Salary is        competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
