Subject: Faculty opening

Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Ashland Theological Seminary invites applications for a tenure-track position (open rank) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, to begin September 1, 2013. The appointment will involve teaching graduate counseling classes and research in the candidate's areas of interest and expertise.

It is expected that the candidate will have completed a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP accredited institution. Current licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as a Professional Counselor or Professional Clinical Counselor in Ohio, a history of membership and participation in relevant professional counseling organizations, and a demonstrated history of, or potential for, scholarly productivity are also required. Candidates should be competent in integrating clinical training with a Christian worldview and demonstrate commitment to an active, personal vision of faith and life, servant leadership in the church and world, and team ministry. Applicants should send all communications by email, including a letter of interest (detailing supervision and teaching experience with counseling students), curriculum vitae, and a brief statement on their Christian experience and philosophy of education in relation to ministry to Donna Johnson at djohnso8 at ashland.edu<mailto:djohnso8 at ashland.edu>. In addition, three letters of reference should be sent directly to the email address or to Donna Johnson, Office of the Dean, Ashland Theological Seminary, 910 Center Street, Ashland, OH  44805. The search committee will begin reviewing applications on October 15, 2012, and will continue doing so until an appointment has been made. If a candidate is available before September 1, 2013, it might be possible to negotiate an earlier appointment.
