Subject: SPRING QT GRADUATION/DISSERTATION DEFENSES

Please forward to all faculty who advise doctoral and Master's students
ASAP.

Dear All, 

Just a friendly reminder of the pertinent dates for Graduate candidates who
are planning on a Spring graduation.

The Deadline to apply for Spring graduation at the Office of the Registrar
is April 20.

Doctoral students must have all degree requirements completed before June
11, in order to participate in the graduation ceremony.

REGARDING SPRING DISSERTATION DEFENSE ARRANGEMENTS

If your candidate is planning to defend a dissertation or thesis and
applying for Spring 2010 graduation, the final day to have the defense
details to Ramona is APRIL 9. 

At least two weeks in advance of their defense, the candidate should send me
an email with the confirmed DATE, TIME and ROOM, CURRENT COMMITTEE and
CURRENT DISSERTATION or Thesis TITLE. 

I must post the defense bulletin on the 2nd floor bulletin board, and
distribute the defense report paperwork to the committee and candidate no
less than 2 weeks in advance of the defense. The Chair of the committee will
receive the Defense report form, announcement, and Dean's Rep Report form.
The Dean's Rep will receive the announcement and a Dean's Rep report form.
The committee members and the candidate will each receive an announcement.

SPRING GRADUATION DEADLINES REGARDING DISSERTAIONS - These are
University-wide, set by Graduate College.

LAST DAY TO EMAIL Confirmed DEFENSE ARRANGEMENTS TO RAMONA - APRIL 9

FINAL DATE TO DEFEND DISSERTATIONS for SPRING GRADUATION - APRIL 23.

LAST DAY TO SUBMIT FINAL APPROVED DISSERTATION AND ALL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
TO TAD Office - MAY 7. 

FINAL DATE TO SUBMIT 2 Dissertation Approval pages and one Abstract, signed
by the Committee Chair, to Ramona - May 7. - This is still a COE requirement
for degree completion.
