Dear ASU,

We look forward to the African Hero selection tomorrow night. The meeting
will be at the cafe Baker Center. We will start at 6 pm instead of 7 pm as
the GB of the last meeting suggested, just in case we happen to go beyond
the one hour. I value your time and i believe you do too. So please be there
on time so this meeting does not last more than ONE HOUR. The Cafe will
close at 8pm and I know you all need to get back to your papers and
homework.
First and foremost, everyone who nominated a hero is responsible for
attending the GB meeting tomorrow to speak about why your nominee is worthy
of this title. You are expected to defend the feasibility of this nominee.
ie. Can you contact him/her? What's the likelihood of getting him/her to
Athens on Feb. 11? Please note that in order to vote, you must be a fully
paid member of ASU for the quarter. Please bring cash to tomorrow's meeting
if you are not paid up.

The African Hero selection process will be conducted as follows:
1) Each GB member who has nominated a hero will be asked to respond briefly
to the following questions:
    a) Do you have personal contact with your nominee?
    b) How feasible is getting him/her to Athens on Feb 11?
If after these questions it is determined that the nominee is not feasible,
that nominee will be taken off the list.
2) The remaining nominees will be given 3 minutes each to be defended by
their nominating GB member.
3) The floor will open to 5 minutes of questioning after each nominee
presentation.
4) After all nominees have been defended, ballots will be distributed to all
paid ASU members. Voters should indicate their first and second choice.
5) Ballots will be tallied after voting.
6) A first, second and third choice will be designated in case of
infeasibility.

Please note that time limits will be strictly adhered to.

A list of the nominees is provided here so you can research on your own if
you wish:
a) Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng - Prince Adu
b) Professor Eustace Palmer - Yacoubou Alou
c) Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah - Prosper Tsikata
d) Dr. Wanjiru Kamau - Edwina Lebbie
e) Prof. Gottlieb Lobe Monekosso - Flabius Mayoa

Best,
Manu, President
