[UC1000] University college Fall Advising Conference

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to invite you to the University College Fall Advising Conference, which will precede the University Academic Advising Council (UAAC) meeting on Wednesday, October 15. This will be an informative conference, so I hope you will make plans to participate.

The University College Fall Advising Conference will be held from 10:00AM until 12:00PM in 239 Baker Center.

This fall, the University College Fall Advising Conference will focus on non-academic support services for students. Beginning at 10:00AM, we will have a series of presentations and discussions with the Office of Institutional Equity, the Office of Community Standards and Student Responsibility, the University Ombuds Office, and the Student Review and Consultation Committee. At various times, we all have students who are struggling and may be interacting with these offices/committees. On the morning of October 15, we will have an opportunity to learn more about how we can use the resources of these offices/committees to most effectively help our students.

Later that day, the UAAC meeting will run 2:00-4:00PM in 203 Baker Center, which is in the Multicultural Center. If you have items for the UAAC agenda, please let me know. I’ll be glad to help make your issues/concerns heard at this bi-annual meeting of the university advising community.

Please mark your calendars, share this information with interested colleagues, and plan to join us for a day of learning on Wednesday, October 15. We hope to see you there.
