Hi all,

There will be three seminars coming up to fulfill one of the membership requirements.

The first one is tomorrow.  See below.

Live Healthy Appalachia Lecture - A New Approach to Food and Health

Dr. Neal Barnard is a physician, researcher, author, and advocate for health and nutrition. He has authored over a dozen books and many scientific articles, covering topics such as weight loss, diabetes, cancer, genetics, and food as medicine. He is the founding president of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), a network of doctors, scientists, and citizens promoting preventative care and research.

Admission to this lecture is free
Seating is limited, doors open at 6:30 PM.

The second seminar will be on 11/19.
Speaker: Dr. Shawn Chen (Bios faculty)
Title: Overview of the laboratory for Streptomyces biology and the biochemistry of antibiotics

The third one will be on 12/3.
Speaker: Dr. Lisa Crockett (Bios faculty)
Title: Risky fats and antioxidant arsenals in cold and warm-bodied fishes

Both seminars will start at 4 pm in 159 Irvine hall.
