Greetings SPA! I hope you are enjoying your summer :)

Please consider getting some experience presenting at the NASPA IV-East Conference (see below). It would be good practice for the future and a wonderful resume builder. The deadline for proposals is June 19th! Please let the HESA department know if your proposal gets accepted as well so that you can be featured in the newsletter.

Big thanks to Dr. Early for bringing this opportunity to my attention!

2015 NASPA IV-EAST REGIONAL CONFERENCE
November 8th-10th, 2015

"Renaissance: A Regional Celebration!"

Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel & Convention Center, Schaumburg, Illinois

We are still seeking program proposals for the NASPA Region IV-East Conference in November! We hope you will consider offering your voice to a vibrant array of learning opportunities at the conference. Throughout our time in Schaumburg, a variety of topical presentations and workshops will be presented by our colleagues from across Region IV-East. It will be an opportunity to celebrate our region, which is home to so many institutions of higher education, student-affairs graduate-preparation programs, and significant milestones that have shaped the history and importance of the work in our field. This would be a prime opportunity for you and your colleagues to share the latest trends, research, and best practices so that we may continue to strengthen the work that we do.

Proposals will be evaluated based on content; relevance to the conference theme and the Professional Competency Areas for Student Affairs Practitioners; evidence of clearly stated outcomes and objectives; contribution to the knowledge and practice of student affairs; and adherence to program submission guidelines. We understand the value in sharing our knowledge with multiple audiences so this year we welcome new proposals and presentations as well as those submitted to other national and local conferences.

General Interest Sessions: Sessions that are directly related to the conference theme and to the Professional Competency Areas for Student Affairs Practitioners<http://www.naspa.org/images/uploads/main/Professional_Competencies.pdf>. (60-minute or 90-minute format)

Promising Practice Sessions: Sessions that provide an opportunity to showcase programs, strategies, or interventions that have been successful on a particular campus. (60-minute or 90-minute format)

Round Table Sessions: Sessions that allow for in-depth discussion related to current events, developing trends, association business, or functional areas. (60-minute format)

Research Sessions: Sessions that include the presentation of one or more research papers, followed by a facilitated discussion of themes and/or findings. (60-minute format)
