Assistant Director for Career Development

*Description*



Serves as the Assistant Director for Career Development. Incumbent is
responsible for all aspects of the career planning career development,
career education, liaison activities, and development of programs to support
gradaute student populations at the University of Florida.

Responsibilities Include:
Provide career planning services to all UF students. Participate in weekly
intake appointments to all students (undergraduate and graduate). Provide
follow-up appointments to help students in their career-decision making and
planning. Participate in counseling consultation meetings.

Develop and deliver career development programs and resources for graduate
students addressing career exploration and planning issues. Insure proper
promotion of career development programs, resources, and services to
graduate students.

Serves as the CRC's principal liaison to all campus graduate student
organizations and the graduate school, developing tailored presentations on
graduate student career opportunities and job search strategies as
requested.

Evaluate effectiveness of programs and services. Stay current with recent
trends, resources, and research addressing student issues. Reports the
effectiveness of programs designed to meet the needs of students.

Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Associate Director and
higher authorities in the department and division. Attend weekly staff
meetings and one-on-one supervision meetings to insure clear communication
with colleagues and supervisors. Participate in department, division and
university wide committees.



*Requirements*



Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of
appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of
specialization and four years of appropriate experience.



*Preferred Qualifications*



Master's degree in counseling or related field (Master's in counseling is
highly preferred).
Ability to provide intentional and compassionate counseling/advising to
students.
Ability to integrate counseling theories, career development theories, and
student development theories when working with students.
Multicultural competency and sensitivity.
Excellent presentation skills.
Candidate should be energetic, organized, flexible and innovative.
Possess strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications,
multi-tasking, and teamwork skills.
Experience in Career Services setting or Student Affairs is highly
desirable.
Strong interest in working with graduate students.
