Hello all,

Once again congratulations for being selected for the 2023 SCI Region V Conference at Ohio University. This listserv has been created to facilitate communication about the festival. The goal is to only use it only for mass communication. If you have questions, please respond directly to me (mcclurer at ohio.edu<mailto:mcclurer at ohio.edu>) instead of trying to post to the listserv.

Once again, here is the website where you can find out the piece that was selected as well as the other composers who were selected. This can be valuable information when trying to plan lodging and travel.

We are currently putting together a registration site which I will send out in the coming weeks. Once we have your parts and registration, I’ll connect you with the faculty/students/conductors that will be performing your work if you did not elect to bring your own performers or your pieces has no performers.

The conference is Nov. 2-4, 2023 in Athens, Ohio. The rough concert schedule is as follows:

Thursday Nov. 2
Concert 1 – 7pm - Mixed chamber, electronics, Percussion ensemble

Friday Nov. 3
Concert 2 – 10:45am – Mixed chamber, electronics, student ensembles
Featured Artist Presentation – 1pm
Concert 3 – 2:30pm - Mixed chamber, electronics, student ensembles
Concert 4 – 7pm – Either chamber works OR brass quintet, wind ensemble, orchestra, big band

Saturday Nov. 4
Concert 5 – 10:30am - Mixed chamber, electronics, student ensembles
Concert 6 – 2:30pm – All choir/organ pieces, mixed chamber
Concert 7 – 7pm - Either chamber works OR brass quintet, wind ensemble, orchestra, big band

All dress/tech rehearsals will be immediately before the concert on which you are scheduled. You must be in attendance for your piece to be performed. A preliminary schedule will be sent out after the March 31 date has passed. The above is a rough outline of our plan.

PLEASE NOTE – Percussion ensemble pieces can ONLY be scheduled on Concert 1. All choir and organ pieces can ONLY be scheduled on Concert 6 due to the different venue. Concert 4 and 7 could swap however, these large ensembles will be scheduled together. Given our venues, these considerations have already been decided. Please plan your attendance around these days/times. Thank you for your understanding.
