For those who need to know how to schedule events, I signed up for the
session on Thursday, Feb. 2 from 10-12. They have other sessions if that
doesn't work for you and it's free.

 In preparation for the shift to a new academic year calendar, Event
Services has developed a new reservation process and timeline for major
event spaces.  Major event spaces include:  Memorial Auditorium; Galbreath
Chapel; Baker University Center Ballroom, Theater, Front Room and
Multi-Purpose Room and the Walter Hall Rotunda.  * The former practice of
reserving space one year in advance of the requested date is no longer in
place.*

 For those departments or organizations, who in the past have had “standing
annual events” from year to year, this new process will require that the
new protocol be followed.  Event Services staff are not able to
automatically hold space in anticipation of a traditional event.   ** **

 Changes to the reservation process include the development of a priority
user list as well as the implementation of a user based online reservation
request system.Decisions regarding this new system were determined based on
priorities of the University, efficiencies of space and technology usage as
well as customer feedback.  The goal is to provide a more customer service
oriented process with the ability to confirm space requests in a timely
manner.

 The online systemwill open on March 7, 2012 at 8:00a.m. for space requests
during the timeframe of August 15, 2012 to August 14, 2013.  Requests will
continue to be accepted after this date on a first come, first served basis.

 Information and training sessions for the new online request system will
be held on February 2 nd and 9th , for students and employees who plan and
coordinate events in the University community.  To sign up for one of the
information sessions please visit  https://commerce.cashnet.com/ohioestrain .
Individual/departmental trainings can be arranged through the Event
Services Reservations Office by calling (740) 593-4021.

 At this time there will be no changes to the current process for
requesting a meeting room within Baker University Center such as those
found on the second, third and fifth floors.  Meeting room reservations
will continue to be made by calling (740) 593-4021. Additional information
related to the new scheduling process including the priority categories may
