Greetings GO Greeners!

It is August 5th and the registration portion of GO Green has ended. We will soon begin the implementation of GO Green and the Fall Quarter move-in. However, before we can get started, there are some final details that must be conveyed to you and your organization.

1) Student volunteers who have completed a Housing Contract for Fall Quarter 2011, may move into their residence halls from 10:00am – Noon on August 31st. This is the only time that students will be able to check into their halls. Residential Housing will have a list of students who have filed their housing contract and those who are volunteering for GO Green.

2) The GO Green Orientation will be held in Morton Hall, room 201 at 7:15pm. This meeting is required for all GO Green Team members. During this meeting, volunteers will select their shifts and locations. As the representative of your organization, you will be in charge of distributing your organization’s t-shirts and checking-in your volunteers. Please bring a laptop computer to check-in your volunteers and please arrive at 7:00pm to set up your organization’s table. The Dean of Students and the Vice President of Student Affairs will be in attendance.

3) GO Green Team members will be asked to take part in two move-in shifts on Thursday, September 1 and Friday, September 2. We would also like to see all GO Green Team members present for the First-Year Convocation on Monday, September 5 to help cheer-on our newest Bobcats!

4) Move-in will begin on Thursday and Friday at 9:00am. All GO Green Team members should report to their Green Check-In & Refreshment Station to sign-in no later than 15 minutes prior to their assigned shift. A GO Green Guide will record names of students signing-in and direct them to their shift locations. The Green Check-In & Refreshment Stations are as follows:
South Green: South Pole (under Nelson Dining Hall)
East Green: Jefferson Hall, Room 139
West Green: Ryors Hall, Conference Room

5) Though members of your organization will be prohibited from wearing their own t-shirts, we will allow members to wear organization-specific hats or hair ribbons. Members may also hand out satisfaction cards to students and families to rate the service they provided.

Thank you all for your dedication, time, and hard work. Due to your efforts, we have doubled our involvement and will have over 600 volunteers! We honestly could not do this without your help. If you have any lingering questions prior to August 31st or need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact Kara Kauffman at kk147810 at ohio.edu<mailto:kk147810 at ohio.edu>. Kara is now the primary contact person for GO Green as we move into implementation.
