[OUWC] Speakmon Regatta

Sunday, October 30th is the 2016 Speakmon Memorial Regatta in Columbus. We have had a history of attending this race, however due to scheduling, we won't be going as a team.

However, if there is enough interest to send a committed boat to the race, we would consider taking it to compete there.  I would be more than happy to work with and take out a committed boat over the next week to prepare for Speakmon.

If you or some of your fellow teammates are interested rowing at Speakmon, you must email me, letting me know, by Noon, Monday October 24th.




Some things to keep in mind:

-We would be leaving Saturday October 29 & come back on Sunday October 30th late afternoon/early evening.

-The 48-hour rule applies as always for all competitions this one included.

-We are looking to send competitive boats. If there's not enough interest to fill a complete boat (4 or 8) then we won't send the boat to the regatta.

-If there is more than a boat full of interested rowers who would like to attend, everyone can come and support OUWC. (If you are not in the boat, that does not restrict you from coming.)

-If there is one varsity member in the boat, that boat is considered a varsity boat and will compete in varsity events. In order for the boat to be considered a novice boat all rowers must have started rowing in the year 2016. Talk to your fellow teammates if you are are eager to compete in a Varsity/Novice race.
