We in OUSFIMG are really excited to update our alumni with the recent news:
Finance Student Group of the Year 2020-2021 was OUSFIMG!

Last Friday, we gave a presentation to the Finance Advisory Council (FAC) and we are extremely thankful to many Fixed alum who showed their support. Attached are the slides from our presentation.

2020 was challenging but growing year for the group, yet this semester starting 2021 has brought new accomplishments.

Portfolio:

  *   Significantly reduced tracking error in both portfolios, and outperformed the Aggregate by 3bps in Traditional YTD (-3.34%), due to concerns about inflation and an underweight duration stance in the portfolio. However, ESG underperformed by 20bps in ESG YTD (-3.57%)  due to overweight corporate positions.
  *   First International Investment in Several Years — Alibaba 3.4% 12/06/2027
  *   First Utilities Pitch (while not bought) – Duke Energy Indiana 3.75% 05/15/2046

Placement:

  *   Even with tough recruiting times, we have had 11+ internships confirmed for Summer 2021
  *   First Private Equity Internship secured by a student | Sophomore Jack Heuter — Cinven (NYC)
  *   Companies represented by our Graduating Seniors:

     *   Banks: Goldman Sachs (IB), JP Morgan Chase (AM), Credit Suisse (S&T), Deutsche Bank (IB),
     *   Other Companies: Ernst & Young (Advisory) , Dick’s Sport Goods (Finance Development Program)
Activities:

  *   First Computer Science Major Recruited in 6 Years
  *   Quantitate Strategies Team emailed biweekly reports detailing movements in the markets and our portfolios

     *   The team covered their use of Monte Carlo Simulations, Bloomberg API tools, and broader topics such as Blockchain

  *   Weekly New Kid Trainings, Weekly Advanced Trainings, and a number of impactful Networking Calls
