[Ous-veterans] FW: veteran scholarship apps

Veterans Students:

I am resending this E-mail because I added some new veteran students to the list serv and wanted them to have the opportunity to consider the scholarship opportunities. The attachments are the supplemental applications that are required to be considered for the scholarships.
I am including the criteria in this E-mail for the scholarships.

Frank McCown Veterans Memorial Scholarship:  Must be a veteran or dependent of a veteran, a Lawrence County resident with a minimum of 2.5 GPA.  Must demonstrate financial need (through information submitted on the FAFSA).  You must complete the supplemental application and submit an essay titled "What Freedom Means To Me".
Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 765 Scholarship:  Must be a Lawrence County resident attending OUS, full-time.  Must be the child, grandchild, or spouse of a Purple Heart recipient.  Minimum 2.5 GPA and supplemental application needed. I would think that if a student is the recipient of a Purple Heart, not just a family member, they would also be eligible to apply.
H.B. Doc Riley, Chapter 51, Disabled American Veteran Scholarship:  Lawrence County undergraduate, enrolled full-time, with a disabled veteran in his or her family. Must attend OUS with a minimum of 3.0 GPA.  Must submit the supplemental application with an essay titled "The Importance of the Military to the USA".
