The Limited is looking for a Senior Apparel Merchant!

Description


The Sr. Merchant is a management level position responsible for merchandising and buying of major category line or several smaller lines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Develops an assortment plan, including price point and space allocation for a product.
-Ensures the product development follows the plan and production calendar.
-Collaborates with production on calendar and costing strategies.
-Shops and conducts regular scans of benchmarking competitors to identify opportunities and challenges.
-Participates in the patterning process.
-Tracks competitive intelligence process and performs assessments of fashion trends.
-Partner with other functions to manage inventory.
-Tracks and reviews sales to provide analysis for increased sales opportunities, improve margins, manage inventories and decrease markdowns.
-Develops and presents an overall line plan to cover financial goals.
-Selects and trains merchandising team members.
-Sets performance standards for direct reports.
-Collaborates with design, production, marketing, planning, allocation, and visual.
-Drives strategy and calendarization of merchandising features, trend stories, and promotional cadence.

QUALIFICATIONS

-Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience
-Minimum of 7-10 years merchandising experience in women's apparel, jewelry, and/or eCommerce.
-Product development/design experience in a vertical operation and a thorough understanding of design and manufacturing/production functions.
-Strong presentation and communication skills.
-Outstanding leadership skills and management skills essential to developing a superior merchandise team.
-Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
