Applications are invited for a 1-year full-time Graduate Assistantship in
Sustainability in the 2010-2011 academic year. This assistantship includes
a stipend of $7,000, 12-months of residency at the OHIO Ecohouse, and full
remission of tuition fees for 3 quarters.
The Graduate Assistant will assist the Sustainability Coordinator with
communication, education and outreach programs targeting the campus
community. The Office of Sustainability is dedicated to improving the
efficiency of our university facilities, greening our practices and
processes, and strengthening our campus-wide culture of environmental
mindfulness. The Graduate Assistant will support the ongoing efforts of
Ohio University to support sustainability programs that seek to minimize
our ecological footprint as well as generate savings through resource
conservation behaviors. This assistantship also includes residency at the
OHIO Ecohouse, a themed student residence which demonstrates affordable
green technology and sustainable living in order to inform, engage and
inspire both residents and visitors.
Please note: Applicants from all majors and disciplines are encouraged to
apply. An academic focus on sustainability or environmental issues is by no
means required, and diversity among our staff members is considered an
asset to our initiatives. Residency at the OHIO Ecohouse is a requirement
as part of this assistantship. If you are not able or willing to reside at
the Ecohouse, you will not be considered eligible.
For more information and to request an application, please visit
