[Oafcs] LGBTQ Cultural Competency training

Hello and good morning!

If you are looking to explore LGBTQ cultural competency options, Lighthouse Youth & Family Services is a great connection. Safe and Supported is a project of Lighthouse Youth &  Family Services that is dedicated to ending LGBTQ youth homelessness. One way we work toward this goal is offering our LGBTQ Cultural Competency training to youth-serving professionals. This training includes activities around clarifying professional and personal values, empathy-building, LGBTQ 101 information such as terminology, and site-specific case studies. Although the training focuses on LGBTQ youth, the information is also highly  relevant to working with LGBTQ adults. We are able to bring this training to you for free anywhere in Ohio, and we can offer 5.5 social work CEUs! If you have a bunch of folks at your agency that want to be trained, that’s great. If you’re willing to host our training for your community, we’d also love to collaborate that way! Our training request survey form is located at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/movingthemargins.

We also offer this training at our Cincinnati location on a monthly basis and our next date is Wednesday, April 17th, 2019. It is $15 (plus a small administration fee) to cover the cost of breakfast and lunch, which are included.
