Hi all,

This is a professional development opportunity available for faculty across the state.  The ODHE is particularly interested in participation by folks teaching our introductory courses, particularly those of you who are involved with MATH 1060 Quantitative Reasoning.  This is an on-line program; information is in the attached pdf.

There is a registration link available in the text below, and in the attached pdf.  Registration deadline is August 9, 2019.

If you are interested in participating and can commit to the program, please register yourself and send me an email as well so I know who is participating.

Dear Ohio Mathematics Initiative Chairs/Leads,

Registration is now open for the Focused Online Collaborative Interactions (FOCI) Professional Learning Series sponsored by the Ohio Department of Higher Education and facilitated by the Charles A. Dana Center that explores the principles and strategies behind student-centered learning. Please pass this information to those that have an interest in participating.  Note the Ohio Department of Higher Education through a grant is covering the cost of this professional development opportunity.

The FOCI series sessions are cohort based with the first session to be held on Tuesday, August 27th. This session will focus on deepening student understanding and promoting effective student discourse through active and collaborative learning.
