[ITSA] AECT Design and Development Competition - Consider forming a team

Greetings ITSA members,


 I hope this message finds you well. I shared this information at the ITSA member meeting today, but wanted to share the link with you over e-mail in case you hadn't been able to find the page or were not able to attend the meeting.


 Each year the Associate for Educational Communications and Technology organization hosts a Design and Development contest. Student teams compete to come up with the best solutions to each year's design problem and context. The competition features three rounds: the first round where every interested team submits an initial solution, the second round where only six to eight of the teams advance and are then assigned a mentor (I mentored a team from the University of South Florida last year), and the final round where the three finalist teams do formal presentations at the national conference. The three finalists have their conference registration paid (a $240 value) and I believe there is also a partial stipend to help with travel expenses.  A few things to keep in mind:


- Each team consists of two members

- Both members of the team need to be AECT members

-- I'm happy to report that student membership is only $75 a year for new members, it used to be $95 dollars. (https://www.joinaect.org)

- The submission deadline for Phase 1 is May 5th


 If there are teams that are interested in forming please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have. If there is interest I would also be happy to setup a meeting with the different teams, myself, and program alum, Dr. Briju Thankachan, who has competition experience as both a student winner and mentor.
