[Itech] URGENT Graduation Information

Hello Graduates,

If you intend to walk in graduation on May 2, 2014, then you must meet the
following deadlines.

*DISSERTATIONS*
Apply for Graduation by Feb 17, 3 p.m.
Spring Dissertations must be defended by Fri, March 14, 2014, 3 p.m.
All corrections must be complete to TAD by Fri, March 21, 2014, 3 p.m.
Dissertation must be submitted to TAD by Fri, April 4, 2014, 3 p.m.

*THESIS*
Apply for Graduation by Feb 17, 3 p.m.
Spring Thesis must be defended by Fri, April 4, 2014
All corrections must be complete to TAD by Fri, Apr 11, 2014, 3 p.m.
Thesis must be submitted to TAD by Fri, Apr 25, 2014, 3 p.m.

You will note this is a very tight deadline.  If you plan to defend with me
as your chair for the May graduation, you need to have your dissertation to
me electronically for edits no later than Jan 4. You will need to give your
committee two weeks to read the dissertation before the defense.

We do not typically defend dissertations in the summer so if you do not
defend in the spring, you will have to defend in the fall.  Students do
often defend in April, work on the edits in the summer and then graduate in
the fall. You can return to walk in graduation and to be 'hooded' the year
in which you submit your final copy of the dissertation to TAD.

I have attached the full schedule.  Meeting these deadlines is the
responsibility of the student.  Asking faculty to edit, read, review your
materials too close to the deadline will result in you waiting to summer or
fall to graduate.

Those of you presenting portfolios for the MED program will receive an
announce from Dr. Dikkers concerning that date.
