POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

University of South Florida
Assistant Director for Multicultural Affairs

The Assistant Director for Multicultural Affairs will assist the
Director in developing, managing and ensuring the implementation of
programming to promote the social, cultural, and educational
development of students that increases the capacity for critical
thought about the issues of pluralism in society and students' need to
have cultural competency to be successful a global society. The
Assistant Director will work collaboratively with University
departments: administration, faculty, staff, students, alumni and the
community to create a supportive environment for multicultural
inclusiveness.  In addition, this position will partner will campus
academic and administrative departments to support diversity
initiatives of the curriculum, and the out of classroom experiences
related to diversity and multicultural perspectives (International
Student Services, Language Institutes, etc.).  The Assistant Director
is also responsible for supervising two graduate assistants, several
student staff members and assisting the director with compiling year
end reports, assessment data and developing the operational budget for
the department.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Master's degree in higher
education administration, international/global studies, cultural
communication and conflict, counseling, or related field.  The
Assistant Director should possess 1-3 years of experience that
includes supervision of paraprofessional staff; and a history of
working in the field of diversity/multicultural affairs.
Demonstrations of successful experience in conducting diversity
training, workshops, and presentations is required.  The successful
candidate should have knowledge of current trends in Multicultural &
Diversity and International awareness in Higher Education.

Salary
Salary range from $40,000-$45,000 depending on experience.
