Hello Potential Health Policy Fellows:  The Health Policy Fellowship is now accepting applications for the Class of 2012-2013.  The HPF is a training program in its nineteenth year designed for osteopathic physicians interested in preparing for leadership roles in the profession and for positions of influence in health policy.    During the year-long series of seminars beginning in August, Fellows study the economics of health policy; the impact of health reform on access to affordable, quality care; federal and state health programs; vulnerable populations and culturally competent care; health professions workforce; health information technology; health issues advocacy and the legislative process; and rural health.

The program is offered by the New York Institute of Technology/New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in collaboration with colleges in the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), and the government relations offices of the AOA and AACOM. Applications will also be considered from individuals with an established professional connection with the osteopathic profession (for example: directors of medical education, hospital administrators, and executive directors of state osteopathic associations.

Feel free to use the interactive application on line at the link above, or print and fax the completed application and recommendation forms to (740) 593-1730. Please note the applications are due by June 1, 2012.  A national panel of professionals in the field of health policy will review all applications, and every effort will be made to notify each applicant of the admissions committee's decision by July 1, 2012.
