Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences announced yesterday that Dr. Robyn Phillips-Madson, D.O., HPF Class of 2006, has become the permanent Dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine after serving as Interim Dean. Dr. Phillips-Madson joined the faculty in 2007 and has served in a variety of roles. She assumes her new post immediately.

Dr. Phillips-Madson earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is board certified in family practice and most recently she earned a Masters in Public Health from NOVA Southeastern University. Prior to joining PNWU, she served as medical director of Lake Forest Park Medical Clinic and as a family physician in the Seattle area. She is a past president of the Washington Osteopathic Medical Association (WOMA), was named WOMA's 2007 Physician of the Year and is on the board of directors for the Northwest Osteopathic Medical Foundation.

"It is an honor to be named dean of PNWU-COM, and to be part of this amazing and talented team of faculty, students and staff. I am inspired by the hard work each person is contributing to the development of the school as our second year of classes begins. Yakima and many other communities of the Pacific Northwest continue to provide support which will enable PNWU-COM to meet its mission of training primary care physicians to serve the rural and underserved people of this region. What a privilege to be part of this endeavor," said Dr. Phillips-Madson.

PNWU trains, educates and encourages scientific research for physicians who will provide quality care to all communities throughout the Pacific Northwest, particularly underserved communities. The College of Osteopathic Medicine is the first college to open on the PNWU campus.
