Slavic Village Development, Cleveland, OH, has open jobs in real estate and housing: one internship and one full-time position.

More in the attached document, but here's a quick overview of the Real Estate Internship with responsibilities: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Real Estate Intern to support our staff by developing a residential and commercial real estate inventory for Cleveland's Broadway-Slavic Village Neighborhood. This internship provides hands on exposure to working in the real estate environment within a community development corporation. Responsibilities include: (1) Assisting staff in developing a real estate inventory within the BSV neighborhood; (2) Researching available properties, demographics, and neighborhood information; and (3) Developing and maintaining a property database. Will likely be using ACS and Census Bureau data that I believe most of our students should be familiar with already! (***Please note that this is an in-person position with a preferred start date of ASAP, so the position will not work for students on campus this fall.)

The HHI Housing Specialist role is the full-time position dedicated to working with the City of Cleveland's Healthy Homes Initiative to improve the City's housing stock and the quality of life of residents. They will work cross-sector with the SVD team, the City of Cleveland's Community Engagement Manager, and Councilmembers to (1) Determine which areas of the neighborhood have the most need; (2) Travel locally to conduct property condition surveys; (3) Provide technical assistance to homeowners, landlords, and tenants; (4) Deliver a minimum of four housing-related classes/forums for homeowners, tenants, and landlords; and more in the attached job description.
