[Geog_Jobs] GIS Day Talks tomorrow at Baker 240/242 (also Livestreaming)

Tomorrow Nov 18, we are organizing some short talks to celebrate GIS Day at Ohio University. We start at 1pm in Baker 240/242.
I am writing to invite all of you to attend!  Please do consider.

This is for students! This is not an academic event but for showcasing applied use of GIS technology.

At 10am there will be a hands on workshop on how to use and contribute to OpenStreetMap.
  *
The talks start at 1pm.
  *
At 1:20pm, our recently hired Geography Asst. Professor Dr. Joynal Abedin will present on spatial data science for air quality monitoring and impacts on human health in Bangladesh.
  *
Erin Wilson will present how to georeference historical imagery
  *
Trevor Flint (alumnus of Geography) and Jason Pyles,  both OU employees, will present about how they use GIS for space, utilities and other infrastructure management at OU.
  *
Mitchell Tijerina and Ben Eddington (Geography alumni, and coworkers now) will give two talks on field data collection and geovisualization via story maps.
  *
>From 2:40 to 3:30 pm there will be an open discussion what geospatial science could and should be at OU and who can contribute long-term. Anybody can join this discussion and enhance it with their ideas.

We need all kinds of perspectives, so please come to listen to our speakers and participate in the discussion.
