Position:     Transportation Planner

Agency:       Licking County Area Transportation Study (LCATS)

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.  Knowledge, understanding and application of both transportation planning and ESRI GIS. GIS certificate and / or GISP desired.


Additional Qualifications (Agency/Dept. Qualifications):

Knowledge and use of GIS Data Standards.  Knowledge of HTML programming.  Ability to work independently.  Valid Ohio driver's license.


Hours:          Monday - Friday (7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

Salary:           $42,000 - $50,000 DOQ

Duties:


  *   Assist with comprehensive, in-depth project management responsibilities and conducts professional planning work; manages projects and programs with minimum supervision.
  *   Develops and maintains LCATS GIS data; works on transportation GIS projects; assists LCATS Technical Study Director (TSD) in developing GIS data and applications for jurisdictions.
  *   Utilizes GIS as an application tool for transportation plans and studies focusing on safety, security, long-range planning, and land use/transportation interface.
  *   Analyzes data and prepares reports and graphic displays for LCATS TSD on transportation related topics. Perform analysis, manage and review GIS based data for the region.
  *   Coordinates internet outreach, posting and development for www.lcats.org<http://www.lcats.org/>
  *   Aids in long-range transportation plan development.
  *   Assists to implement unified planning work programs.
  *   Assists LCATS TSD with federal, state, and local public officials' staff, entities, and consultants.
  *   Assists LCATS TSD with written and oral presentations.
*        Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties; may be required to attend seminars/training.
