[GIS] Actuarial Exam Breakdown

Hey everyone,

 

I hope everyone made it through Halloween, but it is time to get back to
work.  

 

This week, we will be having an Actuarial Exam Breakdown in Copeland 233 at
6pm on Wednesday, October 31st.   We will be going over the first several
exams in detail, with broad overviews of the different routes from there.
We will also have exam manuals to look through for the first 3 exams, so
come with any questions you may have about the exam process.



All are welcome, members, and those interested in joining Gamma Iota Sigma.
Pizza and soda will be provided.

 

Also, please see attached letter from Motorists Insurance looking for
actuarial interns for next summer.  This is sure to be a great opportunity
right here in Ohio.

Our Life Insurance company, Motorists Life, is going to have an opening for
a summer intern in 2013. 

We will be targeting sophomores going into their junior year with hopes that
the individual will be at Motorists Life for two summers and then
potentially gain a full-time position upon graduation. 

We are hoping that the individual has passed or at least taken one actuarial
exam. 

In addition to the typical business attributes that all employers look for,
we want to find some one who aspires to be in a smaller actuarial
department.  This means someone who wants to work on a wide range of
projects that are both exciting and mundane and someone who is comfortable
leading and taking ownership since in many instances they may be the only
actuary on the project. 

If there are any students in your program who you think would be a good fit,
please have them contact me directly.
