You are receiving this message because action is required on your part to enroll in Microsoft's native multi-factor authentication platform, Azure MFA. Azure is replacing Duo Mobile (the old multi-factor authenticator used at Ohio University).
What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?
MFA protects you against hackers. When you log into any online application requiring an OHIO ID and password (Catmail, Blackboard, etc.) you'll be prompted to confirm your identity through a smartphone app notification, a text message (SMS), or a phone call (mobile or landline), depending on how you set up your preferences.
Setting Up Microsoft Azure MFA
Most people use an app on their smartphone called 'Microsoft Authenticator' which can be downloaded through the Apple App Store<https://apps.apple.com/us/app/microsoft-authenticator/id983156458> or Google Play Store<https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.azure.authenticator&hl=en_US&gl=US>. However, if you do not use a smartphone, you can set up Azure to place a verification call to a phone number of your choice or configure it to send an SMS message to your cellphone.

All Emeriti will be migrated to Azure 1/31/23, but we recommend enrolling prior to this date so the Office of Information Technology (OIT) can help with any issues. If you would like live assistance, please contact the Service Desk at 740-593-1222, submit a ticket at help.ohio.edu, or contact Carlos Walker at walkerc3 at ohio.edu<mailto:walkerc3 at ohio.edu>.
