Dear Friends member:

As a member of the Board of The Friends of the Ohio University
Libraries, I am responsible for organizing the quarterly book sale,
which, besides membership dues/donations, is the major fund-raiser for
The Friends. (I also get to see a membership list.) The sale is operated
entirely by volunteers, specifically, Phil Gamma Nu, Connect and other
students from the Business College and a dozen permanent Athens
residents, some of whom are also Friends members.

Since you have indicated your interest in the success of The Friends by
joining or donating, I hope you would consider helping the sale in one
of two other ways:

    1. Donating books, used or new, of nearly any sort, though not
textbooks (they date too quickly), or other forms of media in
workable condition: LP records, DVDs, VHS video tapes, CDs. I will
be happy to pick such items up at your home, as you and I have time
(call 592-2298, or use reply email). Or you can call Suzie
Rohrbaugh at 593-9686 to arrange a time to drop the items off at the
    library.

    2. Serving a two-hour slot, with another volunteer, at the
collection table during the sale. The slots are 7-9 p.m. Thursday,
    10 a.m.-noon, noon-2, 2-4 or 4-6 Friday, and 10-noon, noon-2 and 2-4
    Saturday, Feb 17-19 this quarter.

If you can't help either of those ways, you are still welcome,
obviously, to visit the sale and/or have a snack in the second floor
Cafe Bibliotech.
