Ed,
As you know from my copy of my message to Margaret Thomas, I have
suggested Jean Andrews as an Emeriti speaker. I sure it would be a program
of great interest as everyone loved Ora and admired his work. Hope we can
schedule it.
I have a copy of the booklet and the new DVD and both are superb.
Best,
Felix

Subject: [Emeritiassoc] Ora "Andy" Anderson DVD
HI,
We do not usually send out notices about things for sale on this
listserv, but Andy Anderson's special role in our community deserves
this announcement.
*Most of us in the Emeriti Association remember Ora "Andy" Anderson, age
93, -artist, poet, conservationist, and wordsmith extraordinaire- as an
occasional luncheon presenter. He did not write his autobiography in
words. He imprinted the story of his life on his piece of land, using
trees as his medium*.
*A new DVD, Ora E. Anderson: The Soul of the Woods, has been produced by
Jean Andrews. **Dr. Charles Ping introduces the DVD by sharing his own
story about his friends Ora and Harriet Anderson and their efforts to
create the Dairy Barn Arts Center. Extra DVD features include a bird
carving demonstration by Anderson in his workshop and reading of
Anderson's prose and poetry by Dr. Charles Ping.*
* /Ora E. Anderson: The Soul of the Woods/ makes a meaningful gift not
only for anyone who is interested in local history, but also for those
who find pleasure in the natural world in any of its aspects. */*It is
available for sale ($24.95) at retail stores in the Athens area and
online at www.ohiolandscape.org <http://www.ohiolandscape.org/>. All
proceeds from the sale of this DVD and booklet are donated to the Ora E.
Anderson Conservation Fund for Appalachian Ohio, an endowed charitable
fund managed by the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio in Nelsonville.
