Please think strongly about helping your fellow graduate students, present and in the future, and yourself by taking part in Graduate Student Senate. A collective voice is better than one. As many of you may have noticed, rising insurance rates are placing stronger financial burdens on an already tight budget. Make this a topic of discussion to take to the Graduate Student Senate.

Graduate Student Senate is currently seeking new members to support their mission of graduate education, create graduate-student friendly policies at Ohio University and within the community of Athens, OH, and participate in national conversations around graduate student experiences.

The first meeting will be held Tuesday, Sept. 3rd in Walter 235 at 7:30 pm.

Invitation for New GSS Body Members

Dear Graduate-Professional Student,

The Graduate Student Senate (GSS) plays a vital role at Ohio University to support the mission of graduate education, create graduate-student friendly policies at the University and community, and participate in national conversations around graduate student experiences. The GSS is contacting Deans to share in the GSS body member election process this year, as it is thought this is the best way to decrease confusion, increase the democratic nature of the overall process, and streamline the recruitment process for colleges.

Our first body meeting will be held on Tuesday September 3rd at 7:30 pm in Walter 235.

To apply, one must currently be enrolled in a graduate or professional degree-granting program at OHIO for the full term of the 2019-20 academic year.
