[Eecs_phd] Opportunity for Engineering/Environmental Students: National Student Design Competition

University Science & Engineering Professionals,

I volunteer as a Young Professional Liaison for the Solid Waste Association of North America's (SWANA) Ohio Buckeye Chapter. SWANA annually holds the National Solid Waste Design Competition. Do you know a student or university program who might want to compete in this year's competition? If so, please help spread the word!

The competition aims at providing design experience to students interested in pursuing an education and/or career in solid waste management. The program will encourage student involvement in WASTECON, provide students real world experience in solving complex solid waste management issues in a supportive and fun environment, provide students an opportunity to display their talents and provides a networking opportunity for students to connect with potential employers.

This year, the deadline for students to submit a Team Information Form has been extended to April 15, 2016. WASTECON will be held in Indianapolis, IN (August 22-25, 2016).  For potential scholarships to assist teams with travel and accommodation costs to WASTECON, contact the SWANA Ohio Buckeye Chapter<mailto:dbickett at cuyahogacounty.us?subject=NSWDC%20Scholarships>.
