My name is Mike Janney, I am a recruiter for Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU).  ORAU manages the Oak Ridge Institute for Science Education (ORISE) research program.  The ORISE program allows senior scientists, faculty; high school, bachelor's, masters' and doctoral students, and recent graduates to enhance their science education experience in projects and activities at our Department of Defense (DOD) and other Government and Private Industry customers' laboratories and research facilities worldwide.

I am currently recruiting for an immediate opening with the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM).  USAFSAM is located in Dayton, OH at the Wright- Patterson Air Force Base.  For this specific project, USAFSAM is seeking recent MS graduates with a background in statistics, operations research, computer science, or related field within the past five years. The appointment is scheduled to last at least twelve months and can be renewed up to three additional years (total of four years).

Job Description:


One Data Analytics research opportunity is available with the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM).  The candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have completed a Master's degree in statistics, operations research, computer science, or related field within the past five years.



This appointment includes, but is not limited to the following:



Provide analysis support for medical research involving US Air Force and DoD populations.  Requires use of software (such as SAS, SPSS, MatLab, R, Python, SQL Server, Oracle, Java, etc) to clean, manage, and analyze a variety of medical, occupational, and operational data.  Utilize these large datasets to discover patterns to drive new aeromedical research meeting AF and DoD-identified needs.  Develop analytic capabilities to drive better outcomes.



The candidate shall be professional, detail oriented, and possess excellent communication skills (both written and oral).  He/she shall have the ability to thrive in a team environment.
