Note: This is a civilian position.

Position Type: Career Employment - Graduating Students & Alumni

Position Level: Full-time

Position Title: Electrical/Computer Engineer

Division/Department: U.S. Air Force (Civilian Position)

Position Description: The Air Force Metrology and Calibration (AFMETCAL) program is responsible for every measurement made in the Air Force - affecting everything from an aircraft's early warning radar receivers to the amount of fuel burned during flight. We ensure measurement traceability through an unbroken chain of calibrations from national standards all the way to the weapon system. What we do has a real impact on every Air Force weapon system and every airman. The AFMETCAL program is centrally managed from Heath, Ohio (~30 miles east of Columbus).

The position we are hiring for combines electrical and computer engineering. In this position, you will work with AFMETCAL electrical engineers to understand and develop specific calibration/testing methodologies. You will then develop the programs and thoroughly test them in order to fully automate these complex methodologies. This position requires you to be comfortable working with equipment in a lab environment and to be comfortable working with engineers and technicians (some active duty, some civilian) across the Air Force.

The intent of this automation program is to increase the efficiency of calibrations, and more importantly, to improve the quality of the calibrations. Your automated programs will be used at Air Force calibration labs all over the world.

Qualifications: BS Electrical/Computer Engineering
