[THE NELSON MANDELA UNIVERSITY                                                        South Africa                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          July 6- August 3, 2016                                                                             Courtesy Vanessa vandeMaak-2014 alumnus Informational Session                                                                                                                                       Friday, November 20, 2015                                                                                                  3:30- 5:00 p.m.                                                                                                                         Baker Center RM 235 Imagine... * Spending 4 weeks during the summer with an OU professor who is South African at the world famous Nelson Mandela University in picturesque South Africa (great on your resume).  * Immersing yourself and working side by side with interdisciplinary teams with individuals infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.  * Learning through service and earning up to 9 graduate or undergraduate Ohio University credit hours to apply to your degree. Open to all majors. * Learning about post-apartheid South Africa through cultural excursions, service learning opportunities, and immersion in the community. * Visit historic sites and explore the natural beauty of the South Africa including the Addo Elephant Park, Robben Island (jail where Mandela spent most of his life).  Join us for pizza and discuss funding opportunities and how the program fits your major and interests.  * Program dates: July 6 to August 3, 2016  * Applications open on Dec 1, 2015 * Priority decision application due date December 10, 2015 * Final application deadline February 1, 2016 * Undergraduate and graduate students in any major with a GPA of 3.0 or above are eligible  Contact:  Dr. Yegan Pillay (pillay at ohio.edu).]
