Dear Friends,
I wanted to provide a quick update on Senate Bill 5, the bill that would
largely curtail collective bargaining in Ohio. Ohio's legislation is more
extreme than the bill that was just signed into law in Wisconsin. Ohio's
proposed legislation would even limit the ability of firefighters and police
officers to bargain for necessary safety equipment.

The bill is currently being heard the commerce and labor committee of the
Ohio House. Despite the unprecedented outpouring of public opposition, the
bill appears likely headed for passage in the coming weeks. I am committed
to fighting SB 5, which unfairly targets Ohio's middle class. If the bill
does pass the House, I will stand with my constituents to help overturn it
on the ballot.

Ohioans has just begun hearings in the House. While SB5 is aimed at public

have no recourse if they don't agree with management's offer and if you
