March 12: ShamrockFEST
This year Ohio University and the Capital Alumni Network are partnering with ShamrockFEST to help alumni attend one of the best events in the DC area, and raise money for SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the well-being of children, improve parent-child relations and prevent child abuse and neglect.

The DC area Admitted Students Reception is a chance for area high schools students and their families to ask questions to Admissions staff and Alumni about life at Ohio University. 

This event is part of our "Give Back Ohio" Week.

April 9: Volunteer with Capital Area Food Bank 

Join your fellow Bobcats at the Capital Area Food Bank to help in the DC warehouse! 

Saturday, April 9 · 1:00pm - 4:00pm 

This project typically involves packing and/or sorting donated food. It also can include packing for CAFB programs, working on our shopping floor, and assisting with various other tasks at the food bank.

On April 14, we’re putting all of our resources into celebrating Ohio University alumni. Please join us in celebration of over 200 classes of Ohio students and the contributions they’ve made to the university and the world.

Browse through old photos from your college years and post them on Facebook or Flickr. Update your Facebook status or Twitter feed with an Ohio theme (“Like this if you’re a Bobcat.”). Choose a beautiful photo of College Green for your computer wallpaper. 

You could also contact an old roommate or email your favorite Ohio professor to let him or her know how much you enjoyed their class. 

We are hoping each chapter will host an event on this day; we’ll be sending you Bobcat cutouts and other fun OHIO gear for you to display and take pictures with! Mark your calendar now!

April 16 - August 13: Nation's Capital Alumni Softball Team
Come out and play Ohio Alumni Softball, back for our 8th season in the Capital Alumni Network league. 
This will be a spring/summer season with a 14 game regular season and a post season tournament. 

Location: National Mall/Monument Grounds 
Washington, DC (Regular Season) and Goddard Space Flight Center (Tournament) 

The cost is $50 (estimated) and games will be evenings and weekends. Please RSVP by April 1, 2011.

The winning golf team will qualify to go to the legendary Pinehurst Resort to play in the ACURA College Alumni Team Championship. Compete for the Acura Alumni Cup in this 36-hole best-ball competition. 

Times: 11:30am free driving range/Check-in opens 
             12:30pm putting contest 
               1:00pm shotgun start 
               6:00pm (approx.) post-tournament dinner & awards 

Cost: $110 per player 
$40 per non player 

*For Players - Package includes: round of golf, cart, driving range, 3 tourney contests, dinner after the tournament, one future free round per player at South Riding Golf Course, and a goody bag.
