Fellow cesneters,
I thought you might like to get a preview of the new ACA Scholars-in-Residence program. The initial year will provide one professional counselor and one graduate counseling student the opportunity to work closely with ACA on issues that impact the profession of counseling . A stipend of $10,000 will be provided for the professional counselor and $7,500 for the graduate student.
Please consider distributing the message below to your students, as appropriate.
Thanks!

COMING SOON! The ACA Scholars-in-Residence Program

The ACA Center for Counseling Practice, Policy, and Research will soon be unveiling the Scholars-in-Residence program. This initiative will offer two professionals an opportunity to gain practical experience in activities, special assignments, and/or research projects that support federal, state, and community-based programs, policies, and best practices in various counseling settings: Schools, Hospitals and Community Agencies.
Two Scholars-in-Residence will be selected annually using the following guidelines. Scholars will be compensated as stated below.

• The first position will be awarded to a practicing counselor. Counselor Educators must have a private practice at the time of application.

• The second position will be awarded to a graduate student who has completed a minimum of 30 credit hours in a regionally accredited counseling degree program.

• Both interns will serve for one full year with the ACA Center for Counseling Practice, Policy, and Research.

• Both interns will work 10 hours per week.
Both interns will be provided a stipend: $10,000 for the practicing counselor and $7,500 for the graduate student.

The application and selection processes will begin in late September, 2013. The final selection of the first two scholars is expected in December, 2013. Scholars will begin their work experiences with the Center in early January, 2014.
