Ohio University sponsors several research, scholarship and creative activity funding opportunities for faculty, students and staff during Winter Quarter. Below is a list of opportunities and deadlines.

Graduate Student Senate Grants:

Travel Program - Deadline: 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 14, 2011
Supports travel to present original work, as well as travel for professional development workshops and seminars. Proposal selected by lottery. Quarterly deadlines. Maximum award $500.

Grant for Original Work - Deadline: 5 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011
Competitive awards to graduate students to conduct original research, scholarship or creative work. Quarterly deadlines. Maximum award $750.

Ohio University Research Committee (OURC) - Deadline: 4 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011

Student Enhancement Awards - Deadline: 4 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011
Competitive awards to support undergraduate, graduate and medical student research, scholarship and creative activities. Awards of up to $6,000 support research and travel for a student and mentor to attend a professional meeting to present results. 1804 Fund - Initial Deadline: Tuesday, March 15
The Fund was established by the Ohio University Foundation. Proposals should be linked to the university's commitments, as outlined in Vision Ohio, to maintaining and enhancing a learning-centered community. The Fund promotes collaboration among units and focuses its support through two categories:

Faculty Research and Graduate Studies
Research, scholarly activities and innovations in graduate education.  Guidelines are distributed at preliminary discussions with the Vice President for Research prior to March 15. Undergraduate Learning
Curricular innovations, programs and activities that enhance the undergraduate educational experience. Forms and guidelines are distributed at preliminary discussions with the dean prior to March 15.
