Dear Students,

I am resending this invitation to join Chi Sigma Iota.
Please note that our Initiation Ceremony for new members is on April 8 at 3 pm.
The cut-off to apply is 2 weeks prior to that date. You must apply by March 24, 2023 or you will not be able to join until Spring 2024.
(this is a new deadline extended from the original deadline of March 19, 2023).

Some of you have asked if you can become members of CSI even if you are unable to attend the ceremony on April 8. The answer is YES!

You have been identified as an individual who meets the criteria for membership in Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society (CSI), and we are pleased to invite you to join the Alpha Chapter at Ohio University at this time. Your invitation to join our chapter distinguishes you as an outstanding counseling student; one whose accomplishments are consistent with the mission of the international organization and of the Alpha Chapter. Eligibility for membership is extended only to those students in the Ohio University CACREP-accredited Counselor Education program who "have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better on a scale of 4.0 and are deemed promising for endorsement as a professional counselor whose ethical judgment and behavior will be exemplary" (CSI Bylaws Article 4.1). You must fully complete and submit the application with dues payment at the same time. Incomplete applications cannot be accepted. Please make sure that you correctly connect to the Chi Sigma Iota website and ensure that you apply for membership in Chi Sigma Iota (e.g., make sure you have not inadvertently reached the wrong website and that you are not applying for membership in the Construction Specifications Institute).

You will be required to pay the CSI membership dues online with a credit card or via PayPal. (You may also renew your CSI membership annually online using a credit card or PayPal.) CSI International new member dues are $50.00 for the first year; renewal is currently $40 per year. The Alpha Chapter of CSI does not charge any local dues - we utilize fund-raising to help with chapter projects. Dr. Christine Suniti Bhat, the Alpha Chapter Faculty Advisor, will be required to approve your online application form before your application is finalized.

Please complete the application process by midnight on March 19, 2023, to ensure that your CSI certificate and membership pin will be available to present to you at our chapter's initiation ceremony. If you do not apply by March 19, 2023, you will have to wait until Spring 2024 to apply.
