[Counselor_Educ] OUMBL in Spring '23 semester

Ohio University Mindfulness-Based Living (OUMBL) student club is kicking off for the Spring '23 semester!

Meeting: The club meets for an hour on Tuesdays, 6:30 - 7:30 pm, at Patton College, Rm #209. Each meeting consists of a 10-15 minute mindfulness meditation, a mindfulness-based activity, and a discussion.

Description: Mindfulness is the awareness, of present experience, with acceptance. The club uses mindfulness-based activities/practices, videos, and meditations to improve the mindfulness of group members thereby reducing stress and anxiety and boosting well-being. Activities include mindful eating (think pizza!), mindful walking, mindful movement, mindful communication, mindful self-compassion, loving-kindness, and radical acceptance, among others. We practice these at each meeting and discuss our experiences.

We have Mindful Mondays (7 - 8 pm) at the Sook academic center, Peden Stadium, for six sessions (1/23, 2/6, 2/20, 3/6, 3/20, 4/3).
