[Counselor_Educ] Congratulations to the Alpha Chapter of CSI on a successful Ohio Virtual Conference

Congratulations to the Alpha Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) for organizing and delivering the CSI Ohio Virtual Conference on Saturday March 26, 2022, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm! The Alpha Chapter of CSI had obtained a grant from the Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International that partially funded the conference.
The conference was a resounding success. Kudos and thanks to Gene Dockery, President of the Alpha Chapter of CSI. Gene worked tirelessly to set up the virtual conference and oversaw all aspects of it. We had 120 people sign up for the conference and we were pleased to deliver professional development at no cost to counselors and counselor education students in Ohio.
Our alumnus Dr. Jason McGlothlin of Kent State University (current chair of the ACA mid-west region and past-president of the Ohio Counseling Association) was our keynote speaker. He delivered three hours of valuable professional development in the much-needed area of suicide prevention and intervention. We are very grateful to him and to all our great presenters, both from our institution as well as from around the state of Ohio. My thanks to everyone who volunteered to help make the conference a success, and a big thank you to all our attendees who chose to spend their Saturday learning with us.
